Dubai in 2010 – holiday top tips
If the combination of guaranteed sunshine and enough activities to keep you busy from dawn to dusk is what you seek in a holiday, then a break in Dubai is the place to visit.
To enter Dubai you may need a visa. Citizens of certain countries including the UK can obtain a free tourist visa on arrival, but if you are not a UK citizen check whether you need to obtain a visa prior to flying.
Be careful about visiting during Ramadan. This is period during which Muslims ritually fast, and during 2010 will fall between 11th August and 9th September. Throughout that period eating, drinking and smoking in public is forbidden during daylight hours. Please bear these restrictions in mind if you are planning on holidaying in the Emirate during those times.
During the Dubai winter, which runs from November to March, the temperature averages a pleasant 20 degrees Celsius. It gets much hotter in the summer and can reach a stifling 40 degrees plus. So, if you don't like extreme heat avoid the Emirate during the summer months.
